Top 5 record breaking T20 score in the cricket history
Afghanistan hammer highest T20 score at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun, Uttarakhand on 23rd Feb 2019. The previous record was of Australia's 263/6 scored against Sri Lanka in 2016. Afghanistan is now the proud record holder to score highest T20 total in international cricket.

1. Afghanistan 278/3
vs Ireland 194/6 at Dehra Dun, 2019
Afghanistan created history in second Twenty20 International
against Ireland at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun.
Afghanistan scored 278 for the loss of three wickets from their allotted 20
overs, to register the highest t20 score.
Hazratullah Zazai played a remarkable innings, as he scored 162 runs from just
62 balls. Zazai became the first player from Afghanistan to score 150 or more
runs, and his 236-run highest opening stand with Usman
Ghani, who made 73 runs from 48 balls and became the highest partnership in
T20Is.
2. Australia 263/3 vs
Sri Lanka 178/9 at Pallekele, 2016
Australia continued their domination over hosts Sri Lanka in
the limited-overs formats with a thumping 85-run win in the first of the two
Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) in Pallekele. Put in to bat, the Australia
scored a record 263 for 3 in 20 overs with Glenn Maxwell top-scoring with an
unbeaten 145. Sri Lanka was never in the game after that and they eventually
finished with 178 for 9 with skipper Dinesh Chandimal (58) registering his
joint-highest score. 145* by Glenn Maxwell make him the second highest run-scorer in T20Is after 156
by Aaron Finch.
3. India 260/5 vs Sri
Lanka 172/9 at Indore, 2017
Sri Lanka are unlikely to forget December 22, 2017 when they
faced India in a T20I at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, and it turned out to be
nothing short of a nightmare. Led by Rohit Sharma's 118 off 43 balls and KL
Rahul who made 89 off 49 as India posted a whopping 260 for 5 in 20 overs,
winning the game comfortably.
4. Sri Lanka 260/6 vs
Kenya 88/9 at Johannesburg, 2007 ICC World T20
Sanath Jayasuriya is known for his wicket taking record but in the 2007 Twenty20 World Championship
at Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, South Africa he scored 88 runs off 44
balls. Sanath Jayasuriya 88 and Jehan Mubarak's late fireworks lifted Sri Lanka
to a record team score of 260 for 6, a target way out of reach for the
opposition as Kenya managed just 88. Thus, Sri Lanka has beaten Kenya by 172
runs.
5. Australia 248/6 vs
England 209/6 at Southampton, 2013
On August 29, 2013 Aaron Finch smashed most runs in t20 and record 156 off just 63 balls thus help
Australia beat England by 39 runs in the T20 internationals. Aaron Finch named
Player of the match for record-breaking 156-runs knocked off facing 63-balls
including 14-sixes and 11-fours with strike rate of 247.61. Australia scored
imposing total of 248-6 in 20 overs.
