IPL 2020 Edition To Be Played In Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi From 19th Sep, 2020: IPL News
Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 edition dates have been announced. IPL chairman Brijesh Patel has
made it clear that the T20 league will begin in the UAE on 19 September, while
the final match will be played on 10th November. The IPL 2020 was scheduled to
be held from March 29, but was postponed due to the Covid-19 situation.
The BCCI gets approval from the
Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India to organize the 13th season of
the Indian Premier League (IPL) in UAE. The IPL will start in UAE from 19
September to 10 November will be held in 53 days at three stadiums in Dubai,
Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
According to recent ipl news after August 20 most teams will leave for UAE
they will have to undergo two RT PCR tests within 24 hours before departure. The
IPL tournament will take place in a completely bio-secure environment. All
matches will be held in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai only. The BCCI and the
franchisees have decided that eight different teams will stay in eight
different hotels. Apart from this, from time to time, players will have corona
tests while breaking bio-bubble will be punished. On reaching UAE, there will
be tests on the first, third and sixth days. At the same time, in the middle of
the tournament, there will be a test on every fifth day.
Players will not be allowed to leave the safe environment.
On doing this, punishment will also be given. Any positive incoming player will
be kept in quarantine for 14 days. All teams will stay in eight different
hotels. Team members will be given rooms in a separate wing at the hotel. After
the negative of the third Test, the players will be able to meet proper
distance and wearing masks. At the same time, players will be able to ask for
food in their rooms. They will not need to go to the dining area.
Regarding the IPL of BCCI, the SOP has stated that the empty
stand can be used as a dressing room during training and matches. Also, a
strategy meeting in the middle of the match will also be held in these empty
stands instead of on the field. While the families of the players and support
staff can live with them, they will not board the team bus and will not be
allowed to leave the safe environment.
The SOP states that the Venue cricket operations team will
choose the right place for the dressing room. At the same time, teams have also
been asked to use electronic team sheet instead of hard copy for team sheet.
Franchises may also employ Scalene Hypercharge Corona Cannon. This machine has
the ability to eradicate virus’s spread in low-lying spaces. At the same time,
the medical team will also wear PPE kits to get in touch with the players.
Players are advised to bath first on their return to the hotel. All these
